Sponsorship

On each of the world's seven continents, one mountain summit stands supreme. Whittaker is now poised to be the first amputee in history to stand on each of these seven summits.

Tom Whittaker’s “Seven Summits: Ultimate Journeys of Inspiration” will create inspirational content and imagery for web sites, magazines and television documentaries.

For example...his climb of Mount Everest was viewed in an hour documentary format twice on prime time television. It was featured on five web sites and became part of a fully featured curriculum in schools.

“Seven Summits” is a mountaineering event that will finale on Mt. Vinson in Antarctica, January, 2004.

Whittaker is seeking corporate sponsors who see value in associating their brand character with our message of inspiration and human achievement.

TITLE SPONSORS

By branding the last of Whittaker's Seven Summits climbs, a title sponsor takes claim to the entire event.

PRODUCT/SERVICE SPONSORS

In addition to Fortune 100 title sponsorship, we are offering limited product/service placement opportunities within these mountaineering expeditions.

WEB Partner -
The “Seven Summits” is the ultimate mountaineering exploit that has been only achieved by some seventy people to date. For a high tech communications company to use this turn-key event to demonstrate their global capability is an tremendous fit.

Sat Phones / Communications -
In the last fifty years portable satellite communications have done more to revolutionize modern mountaineering than any other technical advance. “Seven Summits” will be the ideal vehicle for show casing the reliability of this product.

Sport Utility Vehicles -
All these mountains are in remote corners of the globe. Transporting climbers, high tech and mountaineering equipment will test man and machine to the utmost. “Seven Summits” is no digitally contrived rock dodging promotion. This is a three year real time adventure that will grow up with children in schools.

The needs of sponsors for brand prominence within the body of the expedition coverage and publicity will be guaranteed.

Our preference is to contract with one Fortune sponsor who will be granted the exclusive right to brand within the expeditions. This single partner model provides the best structure for an uncluttered, tasteful and powerful brand character initiative.

WEB CAST

Since “Summits” chronicles the inspirational stories of the climbing teams as they push for a goal, web coverage from the mountain provides the most powerful branding opportunity.

The “Truman Show” effect is highly exploitable under this scenario. With an effective pre-event promotional strategy, sponsors can drive their target audiences to the web site and continuously brand message them as they look over the shoulders of the climbers.

PUBLICITY

Events leading up to, during and after “Seven Summits” will be publicized across all major platforms. It is anticipated that the Fortune title sponsor will bring significant assets to this initiative.

DIGITAL CONTENT

All activities, pre, during, and post, will be captured on hi-resolution digital media and made available to partners and sponsors in various ways. The possibilities include:

Streamed content during the expeditions (as discussed in WEB CAST).

Still images extracted from video stream for use in corporate advertising and promotions.

The climb will be made into a one hour adventure documentary.

EDUCATIONAL CONTENT

An agreement will be reached with a major distributor of adventure based educational content. The objective is to reach as many school children as possible with a message of acceptance and respect for people with disabilities.
